Ticket to Work

Ticket to Work and Self-Sufficiency Program is the centerpiece of the Ticket to Work and Work Incentives Improvement Act of 1999 and has been incorporated as part of President Bush's New Freedom Initiative. It is a comprehensive national program designed to provide SSA beneficiaries with disabilities more choices for receiving the employment, vocational rehabilitation (VR), and other support services they need to obtain and maintain employment, as well as increase provider incentives to serve these individuals.

Office of Support Employment Programs

Our mission is to promote the employment of Social Security beneficiaries with disabilities by designing policies that make work pay. Promoting research and programs innovations. Educating the public about programs and services that facilitate entry into the workforce. Partnering with other public and private groups to remove employment barriers for people with disabilities.

Working Healthy - Health Care that Works

Many people with disabilities want to work but worry that doing so could jeopardize their vital health and long term care coverage. The Working Healthy Program offers people with disabilities who are working or interested in working the opportunity to get or keep Medicaid coverage.

A summary guide to employment support available to people with disabilities under the social security disability insurance and supplemental security income programs.

Job Accommodation Network

A free consulting service designed to increase the employability of people with disabilities by: (1) providing individualized work site accommodations solutions, (2) providing technical assistance regarding the ADA and other disability related legislation, and (3) educating callers about self-employment options.
